Bishop Terry L. Young, Pastor
Bishop Terry L. Young was born and reared in a home guided by Christ and the love of his god-fearing mother, Rachel Young, in the city of Greensboro, NC. He furthered his studies at Appalachian State University and Greensboro Bible Institute. Bishop Young graduated from Shaw University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and a Minor in Philosophy. He is the spiritual father and mentor to many ministers and church leaders. Bishop Young began his pastorate in 1993 at MSBC. There he began orchestrating the rebuilding os Morningstar's sanctuary and educational wing.
Bishop Young's vision is a Holistic Ministry that extends the four walls of the church. He is the President and CEO of Unity Builders, Inc., a non-profit organization. Unity Builders, Inc. is a Community Development Corporation (CDC) and also a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). A company that builds affordable housing for low to moderate income families. Bishop is currently in partnership with the City of High Point and various local banks rebuilding and revitalizing the south side o High Point, NC. He is a strong leader in the community and the advisor to Community Leaders Education on Economic Empowerment. Unity Builders, Inc. built thirty (30) homes in Burlington, NC and currently working on a major revitalization project in High Point, NC, East Spencer, and Lexington. Two (2) houses have been donated to UBI from 1st Bank for a transitional home and group home for girls.
He served previously as an influential member on the Advisory Board of United Way, Success by Six and Advisory Board of Pinnacle Ministries in Yanceyville, NC. He is an anointed messenger from Christ. His fresh and inspiring sermons and messages transcended racial lines that drew large and growing integrated congregations locally and internationally.
He was consecrated to the office of Bishop in October of 2006. He formally served as Bishop Ecumenical Affairs under Chief Apostle James H. Carter and on the Council of Bishops for United Cornstone Churches, Intl. He formally served as Bishop of Evangelism with the Truevine Churches of Deliverance (TVCOOD) under Chief Apostle Sylvester D. Johnson. Bishop Young is the founder of Back to Pentecost Annual Conference, which is an interdenominational fellowship.
In 2009, Bishop Young received his certification in Affordable Housing Finance from the National Development Council. In 2010, the City of High Point and Human Relations Department honored Bishop Young with the "Humanitarian Award" for his outstanding accomplishments and unyielding efforts in bringing forth change in the community. In June 2010, Bishop Young graduated from the High Point University and Guilford County Consortium with a certification in Non-Profit Leadership Management.
Bishop Young received certification in community Economic Development from the NC Association of Community Development at Johnson C. Smith in Charlotte, NC. Bishop Young is currently working on his masters in Non-Profit Management from the University of Southern New Hampshire college.
First Lady Geneva Young
First Lady Geneva Young is the middle child of two siblings born to Isaiah and Nettie Long Johnson in Reidsville, NC. Lady Young co-labors in the ministry with her husband, Bishop Terry L. Young. Her genuine and loving spirit attracts people from all walks of life.
Lady Young began her walk with the at a very young age. Being raised by a God-fearing mother, she was very active in River Zion Baptist Church in Blanch, NC, where she was being groomed for the work which God ultimately called her. She has served in the following positions: Usher, Choir Member, Financial Secretary, Children's Church and Nursery Worker.
In February of 2004, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Bishop Terry L. Young and became the "First Lady of the Star".
Lady Young graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School and attended Piedmont Technical College in Roxboro, NC. Her experiences and determination for excellence, has helped her advance in life. She was employed with Copland, Inc. in Burlington, NC, where she was a Production Manager for 29 years. She is presently the Director of Human Resources for Unity Builders, Inc. in High Point, NC.
Her devotion to her family and passion for excellence in ministry, marriage, and parenting exemplify the character of "A Truly Virtuous Woman.
